VSA March 2019 |  A powerful story, a team in training and your chance to support

March 2019 Update

New sport, new outlook

A knee injury forced Gabriel Ramon to change his sport of
choice, but with the support of Veteran Sport Australia (VSA) he’s pushing
forward – one lift at a time.

“VSA has given me the platform to apply myself again to a
competitive sport, which has helped me stay motivated and goal orientated,”
Gabriel said.

Find out how powerlifting has brought purpose back to
Gabriel’s life and how you or someone you know can benefit from VSA support.

Warrior Games approaching

Australia is preparing for the 2019 Warrior Games.

A host of Australian Defence Force (ADF) adaptive sport camps are underway for the purpose of selecting the team members who will represent Australia at the 2019 Warrior Games.

As well as giving participants a chance to tune their swimming, sprinting or lifting skills, the camps equip wounded, injured and ill, active and veteran defence service personnel, with training regimes they can apply to their daily environments.

As well as giving participants a chance to tune their
swimming, sprinting or lifting skills, the camps equip wounded, injured and
ill, active and veteran defence service personnel, with training regimes they
can apply to their daily environments.

More than a training opportunity, the camps open the door
to more sporting opportunities, which supports participants’ rehabilitation.

This year’s
Warrior Games will be held in Tampa (USA) attracting competitors from six
countries - host nation USA, Australia, Canada, United Kingdom and for the
first time Denmark and The Netherlands.

Make a donation

Veteran Sport Australia supports veterans and their
families as they pursue sport and recreation activities.

We reduce the financial barriers to participation with
contributions toward sports equipment and registrations.

Support comes in all shapes and sizes – a sport
wheelchair, field, court or gym fees, membership registrations or uniform and
technical apparel.

Your donation will give more veterans and their families
an opportunity to experience the healing power of sport.
